Migrating permissions on administrative resources

If you are migrating from WebSphere Portal Express V5.0.2.2 or V5.0.2.3, you need to note the access control settings for your previous version and then recreate them in the current version.

1. Log into the earlier version using an administrator account. Then, use the Resource Permissions portlet for the resource types Portlet Applications and Portlets to analyze the existing role assignments on the administration portlets listed in the table and their corresponding portlet applications.

2. Log into the current version using an administrator account.
3. Open the Resource Permissions portlet.
4. Select the Resource type User Groups.
5. Select the All Authenticated Portal Users option and analyze the existing role assignments on that user group.
6. Repeat these steps for All Portal User Groups.
