Preparing for WebSphere Portal Express Server on Linux

Before installing IBM® WebSphere® Portal Express, you may have to prepare your operating system to handle the installation. You may also want to make the necessary preparations to install as a non-root user and/or to configure your ports.

Perform the appropriate preparation tasks for your business requirements:

  1. Optional: Preparing ports on Linux
    It is important to manage your ports when installing IBM WebSphere Portal Express. The installation requires two port blocks of 25 ports or more, one block for IBM WebSphere Application Server and one for WebSphere Portal Express.
