Creating the cluster on i5/OS

After installing and federating the primary node, create the cluster.

Preparing the primary node on i5/OS

1. Run the ConfigEngine.sh -profileName profile_root cluster-node-config-pre-federation task, located in the profiles/wp_profile/ConfigEngine directory of the primary node.

   where profile_root is the name of the WebSphere Application Server where WebSphere Portal Express is installed; for example, wp_profile.

2. Run the ConfigEngine.sh -profileName profile_root cluster-node-config-post-federation task.
3. Run the ConfigEngine.sh -profileName profile_root cluster-node-config-cluster-setup task.
4. Configure the cluster to use an external Web server to take advantage of features such as workload management. Choose one of the following options:

   • Configuring a Web server and an application server on separate machines (remote)
   • Configuring a Web server and an application server profile on the same machine
   • Configuring a Web server and a deployment manager profile on the same machine
   Note: Start with the step about launching the Plug-ins installation wizard.
5. Perform the following steps to access the Web Content Management content through an external Web server:

   1. Log on to the deployment manager administrative console.
   2. Select Environment > WebSphere Variables.
   3. Perform the following steps to narrow the scope of the listed variables:

      1. Click Browse Nodes in the Scope field.
      2. Select the node containing your application server.
      3. Click Browse Servers.
      4. Select the WebSphere_Portal server and click OK.
      5. Click Apply to update the list of variables.
   4. Update the WCM_HOST variable with the fully qualified host name of the Web server.
   5. Update the WCM_PORT variable with the port number used to access the Web server.
6. Change the task list settings to point to the cluster instead of a single server.
