Running the Domino-WebSphere Portal Express Integration wizard

The wizard files are installed with the portal, and you can execute the wizard from either the First Steps graphical interface or from a command line. You can also see log files describing the operation of the wizard.

Important: Before running the wizard, read the Prerequisites section in the parent topic, and make sure that your WebSphere Portal Express configuration is compatible with the wizard. To run the wizard from a graphical interface, launch First Steps as described below:

From the First Steps Welcome screen, click Configuration Wizard and then click Enable Domino-WebSphere Portal Express Integration.

To run the wizard from a command line, perform the following steps:

  1. On the portal server, at a command line, change to the directory
    Windows: wp_profile_root\PortalServer\wizard\

    Linux: wp_profile_root/PortalServer/wizard/

i5/OS: In the UserData directory: wp_profile_root/PortalServer/wizard/

This directory contains the files required to run the wizard: dpiwiz.bat, dpiwiz.sh, DPIWizard.jar, and DPICFG.NSF.

  2. Copy the DPICFG.NSF file to the domino_data_root directory on the IBM® Lotus® Domino® server configured for LDAP, on each Lotus Domino messaging/application server, and each Sametime server, that you plan to integrate with the wizard. Note: This file is a Notes application containing agents that are essential to running the wizard.
  3. Type the following command:
    Windows: dpiwiz.bat

    Linux: ./dpiwiz.sh

    i5/OS: dpiwiz.sh
Note: On i5/OS, the wizard runs only in console mode.
Logs for the operation of the wizard are located in the following directory: wp_profile_root/ConfigEngine/log. The dpitasks.log file contains all information on tasks run by the wizard. Note: If the wizard fails to complete its tasks, the file DPIDebug.yyyymmdd_hhmm.zip, where yyyymmdd_hhmm is the full date and time, is created in the following directory: wp_profile_root/PortalServer/wizard. You can examine this file for possible causes of the failure. Related concepts
