Display context-sensitive help (pop-up window help)
At any time when we are working in IBM MQ Explorer, we can get context-sensitive help.
About this task
In wizards, the help is displayed in the banner of the wizard; in the rest of IBM MQ Explorer, the help is displayed in the pop-up window help. Pop-up window help can be displayed in two different ways, depending on where it is requested from, and what the default preferences have been set to. The two displayed forms are:
- Small, yellow boxes that contain a brief description, explanation, or instruction relevant to the part of the interface that currently has focus.
- A section that slides out of the side of the current dialog or perspective, that contains a brief description, explanation, or instruction relevant to the part of the interface that currently has focus.
The pop-up window help usually also contains a hyperlink that opens the help system to provide more detailed information.
The pop-up window help is available on a variety of objects in the IBM MQ Explorer interfaces; for example, folders, views, and properties dialogs.
To display the pop-up window help in IBM MQ Explorer:
Procedure
- Bring focus to a part of the interface; for example, click a folder or hover over a properties dialog.
