New IBM MQ Advanced features on Multiplatforms

IBM MQ Version 9.0.4 delivers a number of new features that are available only with IBM MQ Advanced entitlement on Multiplatforms.

IBM MQ Bridge to blockchain is available on Linux

From Version 9.0.4, we can use the IBM MQ Bridge to blockchain to connect your IBM MQ Advanced queue manager to:

We can then use the bridge to send queries, make updates to, and receive responses from your blockchain network. For more information, see Configure IBM MQ for use with blockchain.

RDQM high availability

From Version 9.0.4, the replicated data queue manager (RDQM) high availability solution is available for Linux platforms only. Queue managers that use RDQM have messages and logs written to the local storage, and this storage is automatically, synchronously replicated by the IBM MQ system to two other systems. This provides the safety of two failover systems without the need for shared disks or external high-availability management solutions.

For more information, see RDQM high availability.

Ability to run the Managed File Transfer Logger in client mode

From Version 9.0.4 onwards, the Managed File Transfer Logger, configured to use the FILE mode, can connect to the coordination queue manager in client mode.

To run the Managed File Transfer Logger as a client in FILE mode, you must have an IBM MQ Advanced license.

To use the logger as a client, you must use one or more of the additional parameters in the fteCreateLogger command. There are, also, extra parameters for use in the logger.properties file.
