Release and platform icons in the product documentation

In the product documentation, icons are used to identify release at which a feature is made available. Icons are also used to identify information that applies to a specific platform or group of platforms only.

The product documentation for the IBM MQ Version 9.0 Long Term Support (LTS) release, as well as for IBM MQ Version 9.0 Continuous Delivery (CD) releases is in the same IBM MQ Version 9.0.x section in IBM Knowledge Center.


Long Term Support release, Continuous Delivery release, and release number icons

In the IBM MQ Version 9.0 documentation, rectangular icons are used as follows to identify the following information relating to releases:


Platform icons

Platform icons are used to identify information that relates to a specific platform, or group of platforms.

Icon Platform
AIX
HP-UX. Not supported for CD releases.
Solaris. Not supported for CD releases.
All supported UNIX platforms. That is, all platforms listed previously in this table.
Linux
Windows
All supported UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms. That is, all platforms listed previously in this table.
IBM i. Not supported for CD releases.
Multiplatforms. That is, all supported platforms except z/OSĀ®.

  • For CD releases, this means AIX, Linux, and Windows.
  • For LTS releases, this means AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, Windows, and IBM i.
z/OS
Note: For IBM MQ Version 9.0.1, Version 9.0.2, and Version 9.0.3 Continuous Delivery releases, the supported platforms are Linux, Windows, and z/OS.

For IBM MQ Version 9.0.4 and later Continuous Delivery releases, the supported platforms are AIX, Linux, Windows, and z/OS.

The supported platforms for LTS releases are AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, Windows, IBM i, and z/OS.

Any information not explicitly flagged as IBM i or z/OS also applies to the IBM MQ Appliance.
