New Linux and Windows features
On Linux and Windows, IBM MQ Version 9.0.1 delivers a number of new features.
- C++ client libraries built by using the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 compiler
- Managed File Transfer configurable recovery timeout for stalled transfers
- Redistributable Managed File Transfer Agent package
C++ client libraries built by using the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 compiler
From Version 9.0.1, IBM MQ provides C++ client libraries that are built with the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 C++ compiler. Applications that are built by using a release of IBM MQ Version 9.0.1 or later can use these libraries. These libraries are provided in addition to the existing IBM MQ Version 9.0.1 C++ libraries that are built with the Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 C++ compiler.
In order to use the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 C++ compiler, you must install the Microsoft Knowledge Base update KB3118401, if you are using a version of Windows before Windows 10.
For more information, see Building C++ programs on Windows.
Managed File Transfer configurable recovery timeout for stalled transfers
From Version 9.0.1, Managed File Transfer provides a new advanced property for setting a value for the amount of time a source agent continues to try to recover a stalled transfer.
For more information, see Timeout option for transfers in recovery.
Redistributable Managed File Transfer Agent package
From Version 9.0.1, Managed File Transfer Agent is optionally provided as an individual redistributable component, available to be downloaded as a zip package. This option enables developers to download, configure and test a Managed File Transfer Agent, to ensure it connects to an existing Managed File Transfer configuration and then make the configured agent bundle available to many users within their organization. Users who are unfamiliar with how Managed File Transfer works, can easily set up the pre-configured agent on their local environment and quickly connect to the relevant IBM MQ network. The users do not have to install IBM MQ to be able to transfer files.
For more information, see Configure the Redistributable Managed File Transfer Agent.
