Preparing the system on HP-UX

On HP-UX systems, you might have to complete several tasks before you install IBM MQ . You might also want to complete other tasks, depending on your installation intentions.

The tasks that you perform to prepare your systems for installation are listed here. Complete the appropriate tasks for your platform before installing.


Procedure

  1. Set up a user ID of the name mqm, with a primary group of mqm. See Set up the user and group on HP-UX.
  2. Create file systems for both the product code and working data to be stored. See Creating file systems on HP-UX.
  3. Configure any additional settings needed for your HP-UX system. See Configure and tuning the operating system on HP-UX.
