Preparing the system on Solaris
On Solaris systems, you might have to complete several tasks before you install IBM MQ . You might also want to complete other tasks, depending on your installation intentions.
The tasks that you perform to prepare your systems for installation are listed here.
Complete the appropriate tasks for your platform before installing.
Procedure
- Set up a user ID of the name mqm, with a primary group of mqm. See Set up the user and group on Solaris.
- Create file systems for both the product code and working data to be stored. See Creating file systems on Linux.
- Configure any additional settings needed for your Solaris system. See Configure and tuning the operating system on Solaris.
