Deploying MQ Light applications to an on-premises IBM MQ environment

IBM MQ supports the IBM MQ Light messaging API, so you can use IBM MQ to deploy your MQ Light application to an on-premises IBM MQ environment.

There are advantages to using the MQ Light stand-alone runtime. For example, if we have invested in IBM MQ skills and resources and want to reuse these resources rather than managing a new messaging runtime. We can continue to use existing enterprise monitoring tools, which cannot be used to manage the MQ Light stand-alone product. Your MQ Light application can communicate with existing enterprise applications already connected to IBM MQ, as illustrated in the following diagram:

There are also advantages over using the IBM Cloud (formerly Bluemix®). For example, we can integrate the MQ Light application with other applications that are already connected to IBM MQ. The application might be processing financial or sensitive data that must be held only on systems inside your firewall. MQ Light applications can share a topic space with existing IBM MQ applications, which enables them to interact with existing enterprise systems.
