Uninstall a deployment or removing applications 

Uninstall a deployment of IBM Connections or remove selected applications.


About this task

To uninstall IBM Connections...


Procedure

  1. Open a command prompt and change to the IM_root/eclipse directory.

  2. Start the uninstallation wizard by opening the following file:

    • AIX or Linux:

        ./launcher

    • Windows:

        launcher.exe

  3. Click Uninstall.

  4. Select IBM Connections and click Next.

  5. Click Uninstall to begin uninstalling.

  6. When the process is complete, restart the dmgr.

  7. If you plan to re-install IBM Connections, remove the following files:

    1. IBM Connections installation files: lotus_connections_root

        Note: If you did not install IBM Connections in the default directory, delete the directory where you installed the product.

    2. IBM Connections shared data: Delete the directories that you specified for shared data when you installed IBM Connections.

    3. IBM Connections local data: Delete the directories that you specified for local data when you installed IBM Connections.

      Notes:

      • Delete IBM Connections data files makes the original deployment unrecoverable. If you plan to reinstall IBM Connections and use your old data, do not delete the data files.

      • You do not need to remove the IBM Installation Manager files. These files might be associated with other IBM applications.

Results

You have uninstalled IBM Connections or removed selected applications.

To check the details of the procedure, open the log files in the lotus_connections_root/logs directory. Each IBM Connections application that you uninstalled has a log file, using the following naming format: <application_name>Uninstall.log, where <application_name> is the name of an IBM Connections application.
