Install the IBM Lotus Connections connector for Lotus Quickr to bring file-sharing capabilities and collaboration functionality to your communities.
You must install the connector on all of the nodes in the cluster.
Install the connector
- Verify that Lotus Quickr and Lotus Connections use the same protocol - http or https.
- Download the connector from the Lotus Connections catalog
- From the Connector Install Directory, launch the installation wizard...

- Select a deployment type, then click Next.
- Select the feature or features that you want to integrate, then click Next.
- In the Connector Configuration Settings panel, set...
Field name Description Quickr server host name Host name of the Lotus Quickr server. For example:
quickr.acme.com
If your Lotus Quickr solution is integrated with IBM Tivoli Access Manager or if it uses a proxy server, then you need to specify the Tivoli Access Manager or proxy server address instead of a direct remote HTTP or Lotus Quickr server address.
Quickr server port Port to connect to the Lotus Quickr application.
For example: 80
For load balancing and failover of requests through IHS specify port 80.
To go directly to the Lotus Quickr Portal server, specify port 10038.
Quickr server ssl port Port to connect to the Lotus Quickr application over SSL.
For example: 9443
Do not leave this field blank. If SSL is not configured, enter 443 as the SSL port.
J2C authentication user name The authentication alias created by the installer for the superuser to use for managing Lotus Quickr. This user name is required to authenticate. For example: admin
If you are installing the connector in a Lotus Quickr for Lotus Domino deployment, the user provided here must have permission to create places on the Lotus Quickr server. If the server is configured to allow anyone with server access to create places, then permission does not need to be explicitly set for this user.
J2C authentication password The password associated with the authentication alias.
- Click Next to continue.
- In the Connector Install Location panel, review the information in the following fields:
Option Description Lotus Connections install home directory This is the where Lotus Connections is installed. For example:
C:/IBM/WAS/LotusConnections
Connector libraries install location Location where the connector libraries will be installed. For example: WAS_HOME/profiles/profile/installedApps/cell/Communities.ear/comm.web.war/WEB-INF/lib
Connector configuration install location LotusConnections-config at the WAS cell level as the location to install the connector configuration files. For example: WAS_HOME/profiles/commprofile/config/cells/cell/LotusConnections-config
- Click Next to continue.
- Review the summary information that you have entered. To make changes, click Back. To finalize the installation, click Next.
- Review the result of the installation, and click Finish to complete the installation wizard.
- Restart the WAS.
By default, Lotus Connections won't pass cookies and authorization-related headers to or from external servers for feeds. To enable trusted feeds from the Lotus Quickr server for Communities, you need to configure the Ajax proxy with the settings that you want.If you are installing the Lotus Quickr connector in a network environment, there are a number of steps that you need to perform to complete the networked installation.
