Executing the Data Trimmer

Complete the following steps to run the Data Trimmer:

1. Start the Data Trimmer process on the Managing Server. (If you have your Managing Server and Database Server on two different servers, start the Data Trimmer on the Managing Server server.) The syntax is as follows:

   $AM_HOME/bin/datatrim.sh 

   The process log file is located under MS_home/logs/datatrim.log.

2. The default JVM minimum heap size is 128 and the maximum is 256. You can increase the JVM heap size in datatrim.sh for optimum performance.

3. See the property files (deletesingletable.xml and deleterelatedtables.xml) to set up the parameters.

4. In case of failure, rerun the datatrim.sh script.
