IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Application Diagnostics, Version 7.1.0.1

Configure the Visualization Engine for single sign on

To enable single sign-on, configure the Managing Server and the WebSphere application server that the Visualization Engine runs on. Then, add every user who needs single sign-on access, using Visualization Engine user administration.

Configure the Managing Server

To enable single sign-on, on the Managing Server host (or the Visualization Engine host if Managing Server components are installed on different hosts), edit the MS_HOME/etc/ve.properties file. Set the following property:
wassinglesignon=true
Then, restart the Visualization Engine.

Configure the WebSphere application server

If the Visualization Engine is running on the TEPS eWAS, the necessary configuration of the application server was already performed for the TEPS.

Otherwise, configure the feredated repository on the WebSphere application server on which the Visualization Engine is running. See Configure a Federated Repository and enabling single sign-on.

Add the LDAP user to Visualization Engine user accounts

To add the LDAP user to Visualization Engine user accounts, use Visualization Engine user administration.

In the Visualization Engine menu, select Administration > Account Management > User Profiles.

Then, create a new user profile, and set the User Name and OS/LDAP User Name fields to the LDAP user account name. Set Role to the role for the user, and Account Status to Active.

To save the new account, click Save.

For more information on Visualization Engine user administration, see the online help available in the Visualization Engine.
