Rollback preference console mode

Use the rollback feature to revert to a previous version of an updated package. Some packages do not support rollback.

By default, IBM Installation Manager saves earlier versions of a package to roll back to if you experience issues with later versions of updates, fixes, or packages. When Installation Manager rolls back a package to a previous version, the current version of the files is uninstalled and the earlier versions are reinstalled. If you choose not to save the files for rollback, you can delete the files from your computer.

  1. Start IBM Installation Manager in console mode:

  2. Enter P: Preferences.

  3. Enter 3: Files for Rollback.

  4. Enter 1: Save files for rollback.

The option is selected when [X] shows.

Select D: Delete Saved Files shows when files have been saved.

If the value for Size of saved files is 0.0 MB, you do not see the delete option.

  5. Enter A: Apply Changes and Return to Preferences Menu. Enter P: Temporarily Keep Changes and Return to Preferences Menu if you want to make more changes to preferences before saving changes to the repositories.

  6. Enter C: Cancel to exit preferences. Enter S: Save All Changes to save changes if you selected to temporarily keep your changes.
