Save credentials in console mode


You can store credentials for repositories that require authentication.

You can save credentials when sharing the same instance of Installation Manager .

In Installation Manager version 1.4.3, the save credentials function is not available when you add a repository. You can save credentials when you install a package. In version 1.4.4, you are prompted for credentials when adding a repository.

A selected option is indicated by [X]. An option that is not selected is indicated by [ ]. At the command prompt, default commands are indicated by [ ]. You can click Enter to accept the default entry or enter a different command. For example, [N] indicates that the default command is N: Next.


Save credentials when prompted

  1. Enter P: Provide credentials and connect.

  2. Enter user_name and press Enter.

  3. Enter password and press Enter.

    The password is not masked. When you enter your password, you can see the text of the password.

  4. 1: [ ] Save password if valid. To save the password, enter 1.

  5. Enter O: Ok.

    Installation Manager accesses the repository with the provided credentials. As a result, there might be a delay in the return of the console mode prompt after you save credentials.
