IBM BPM, V8.0.1, All platforms > Authoring services in Integration Designer > Services and service-related functions > Access external services with adapters > Configure and using adapters > IBM WebSphere Adapters > IBM i > Configure the module for deployment

Create the project

To begin the process of creating and deploying a module, you start the external service wizard in IBM Integration Designer. The wizard creates a connector project, which is used to organize the files associated with the module.

Make sure you have gathered the information you need to establish a connection to the IBM i system.

For example, you need the name or IP address of the IBM i system and the user ID and password needed to access it.

If you have an existing project, you can use it instead of creating a new one. Select it before you start the wizard.

Procedure

  1. To start the external service wizard, go to the Business Integration perspective of IBM Integration Designer, and then click File > New > External Service.

  2. In the Select the Service Type or Registry window, select Adapters and click Next.

  3. In the Select an Adapter window, select IBM WebSphere Adapter for IBM i (IBM : version), where version is the version of the adapter you want to use.

  4. Click Next.

  5. In the Import a RAR File window, accept the default project name in Connector project or type a different name.

  6. In Target runtime, select the type of server where you will deploy the module. The wizard creates the artifacts that are appropriate to that server.

  7. Click Next. The Locate the Required Files and Libraries window is displayed.

Results

A new connector project is created, which contains the adapter RAR file. The project is listed in the Business Integration perspective.
