Keyboard shortcuts for data visualization

In the data visualization diagram in the web browser window, you can perform many of the available actions by using keyboard shortcuts.

Use the shortcut keys described in the following sections to browse through various areas in the data visualization diagram in the browser window.

To browse through the process diagram on the right side in the browser window:

  1. Press Shift and Right arrow or Left arrow to scroll the diagram horizontally. Press Shift and Up arrow or Down arrow to scroll the diagram vertically.
  2. Press Tab to access the zoom in or zoom out bar in the upper right corner. Use the Right arrow key to zoom in the process and the Left arrow key to zoom out.
  3. Press Tab again to access the process.

  4. Use the Up arrow and Down arrow keys to toggle the swim lanes in the process. Then use the Right arrow and Left arrow keys to toggle the lane header and first process node in the lane. Then use the Up arrow and Down arrow keys to toggle among the connections. Once you select the required connection, use the Right arrow and Left arrow keys to browse to the process nodes.

    The navigation through the process nodes is not in the order in which they are displayed in the diagram. Instead, the navigation depends on the order in which the user added the nodes in IBM Process Designer during the process design.

  5. After you have selected a process activity, use the following shortcut keys to browse the data variables or tag groups visible for the activity in the diagram.

    For data variables:
    l+u (l key press followed by u key press) Move up the up arrow spinner on the left side of an activity
    l+d (l key press followed by d key press) Move down the down arrow spinner on the left side of an activity
    l+1, 2, or 3 (l key press followed by 1, 2, or 3 key press) Expand or collapse the icon located at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position on the left side of an activity
    r+u (r key press followed by u key press) Move up the up arrow spinner on the right side of an activity
    r+d (r key press followed by d key press) Move down the down arrow spinner on the right side of an activity
    r+1, 2, or 3 (r key press followed by 1, 2, or 3 key press) Expand or collapse the icon located at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position on the right side of an activity
    For tag groups:
    e Expand and display all the tag groups defined for an activity
    e+1, 2, 3, and so on Select the tag group located at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position and so on, where 1 is the tag group placed directly above the activity, 2 is the second one, and so on

To browse through the selection area on the left side in the browser window:

  1. Press Tab to access the drop-down list for data variables and tag groups.

  2. Use the Up arrow key to select Data and the Down arrow key to select Tag Groups.
  3. Press Tab to browse through the list of check boxes available for the data variables or tag groups. Inside each check box, press Space to toggle the checked or cleared state. Use Tab or Shift+Tab to move up and down the list of check boxes.

To browse through the breadcrumb area at the top of the browser window:

  1. Press Tab to access the first process in the breadcrumb area.
  2. Press Tab to browse forward in the list of processes and Shift+Tab to browse backwards.
  3. Press Enter on any process entry in the list to visualize the diagram of that particular process.

Use the following shortcut keys to browse in New Tag or Tag Group in Process Designer:
