Performing administrative tasks for inbound events
To receive information about inbound document and folder events that originate on Enterprise Content Management (ECM) servers, you need to perform the administrative tasks of developing and installing an event handler on your ECM system. The event handler notifies the IBM BPM system about ECM events by calling the appropriate APIs.
For most ECM systems, you need to both develop and install an event handler. However, if you are using IBM Filenet Content Manager, an event handler is already provided and you only need to install it.
Information about developing and installing event handlers is found in the following topics:
- Create an event handler for an Enterprise Content Management system
To obtain information about content events that occur on an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) server, install an event handler on the ECM system. The event handler notifies the IBM BPM system of the events by calling the appropriate IBM BPM APIs. These events can be received by processes on your IBM BPM system.- Use the event handler for FileNet Content Manager
You can deploy the event handler on a IBM FileNet Content Manager system, and configure it to provide notification events to your IBM BPM processes.
