Bidirectional support in IBM BPM
Scripts such as Hijri and Hebrew, where the general flow of text proceeds horizontally from right to left, are called "bidirectional" scripts. The attribute "bidirectional" (bidi) is used for scripts, but by association, the languages that use bidirectional scripts are called bidirectional languages. Although bidi text runs in both directions, the right-to-left direction is the norm.
- If the direction of the window is right to left, its elements are logically ordered from right to left and from top to bottom.
- Within a right-to-left window, the default direction of entry fields is right to left, but entry fields that are to receive English text or numeric input must be defined as having a left-to-right direction.
- Within the same window, text and graphics can have different directions.
IBM BPM provides built-in bidirectional (bidi) layout options for designing processes. Bidirectional support in IBM BPM includes the following features:
- Contextual typing
- Layout transformation in Process Designer
- Hijri and Hebrew calendar support
