Event models

The event model is the part of the monitor model that refers to all of the event definitions used in the monitor model. The event model refers to each event definition that you use as an inbound or outbound event type in the monitor details model or KPI model. It also refers to any schemas used to describe the structure of individual event parts.

You can use the following types of files (or combinations of these types of files) for your event definitions:

Event definition files are shown in the Event Definitions group in the Project Explorer view.

In the Monitor Model editor, you can click the Event Model tab to see the event model displayed in tabular format. For events found in files, the table shows the file name in the first column. For XSD events, the table shows the namespace in the first column. You can expand the file name or namespace to see the complete set of event definitions in the second column. All the available event definitions are shown, even if they are not used in the monitor model.
