Referencing event definitions in other locations

If you are monitoring an event source other than a Process Server application, first import the event definitions that describe the events that are emitted by the runtime system to be monitored, so that you can create a monitor model with inbound events for each of these definitions.

You can drag an event definition file from the file system onto the monitor model. The event definition files can be one of the following types:

To use event definitions from other projects such as Process Server applications:

Procedure

  1. In the Project Explorer view, right-click the monitor model project and select Associate Projects. The other projects in your workspace are listed.

  2. Select one or more projects and click OK.

Results

The project is added to the Project Explorer view in the Business Monitoring perspective with a flag icon, if it was not already there.

You can now use the event definitions from the referenced project or projects in the current monitor model project. You can also refer to them when you are nesting event definitions.
