(Deprecated) Planning for the future with the selector editor
When you are designing your business solution, it is sometimes a good idea to include a selector even though it is not immediately going to be used.
The nature of most business solutions is a dynamic one. Potential modification must be both anticipated and allowed for.
For example, the business decisions in your solution may need to have flexibility for any of the following reasons:
- when they are based on, or controlled by governmental legislation,
- when they are controlled by seasonal variations,
- when they are based on business policy that changes regularly.
The solution in this case is to "design-in" a selector, even though this selector is not being used in the initial deployment of the solution. The selector implements an interface and will route invoked operations to the correct components, and this behavior can be changed after the module has been deployed.
