Create an if-then rule in the rule set editor
An if-then rule determines what action to run according to the condition of the incoming message.
To create an if-then rule in the rule set editor, proceed as follows:
Procedure
- In the rule set editor, click the Add If-then rule icon (
). A new rule appears.
- In the Presentation row, write a sentence that will describe the rule to another user.
- Compose the condition as follows:
- In the If row, click Condition. A pop-up window appears.
- Use the choices in the window to build your condition. You can either choose an existing template which will then prompt you for a value, or you can compose it yourself by clicking the appropriate operators and values in sequence.
- Set the action as follows:
- In the Then row, click Action. A pop-up window appears.
- As earlier, use the choices in the window to set the action. You can either choose an existing template which will then prompt you for a value, or you can set it yourself by choosing from one of the other options.
