Disabling business monitoring

If you no longer want to capture performance monitoring data for your process applications using IBM Business Monitor, disable the business monitoring support. On the Process Center server, this disables and removes all existing monitor models and monitoring data for the process application.

To disable business monitoring, the user or group to which you belong must have been assigned the Deployer administrative security role.

If you are not currently assigned to the Deployer role, perform the following task before you disable business monitoring:

  1. Log in to the administrative console.

  2. Click Users and Groups > Administrative User roles or Users and Groups > Administrative Group roles.

  3. Select your user or group to open it.
  4. Under Roles, select Deployer and click OK.

You cannot disable business monitoring on a process server that has deployed snapshots with monitoring enabled. Instead, you must explicitly remove all generated monitor models using the WebSphere Application Server administrative console.

To help prevent problems, consider the following points before you disable monitoring support for a process application that previously supported it.

To disable business monitoring on the Process Center Server...

Procedure

  1. Log in to IBM Process Designer.
  2. Open the process application by clicking Open in Designer.
  3. Clear the Enable process monitoring through IBM Business Monitor option and save your changes.

  4. Click File > Update Tracking Definitions to disable business monitoring.

All monitor models associated with this process application and their associated data are removed from the Process Center server. The next time you run the process in the Inspector, no monitor model is generated and no monitoring data is captured.

  5. If you want to verify that the monitor model was removed from the server, and that all monitoring data was purged, click Applications > Monitor Models in the WebSphere Application Server administrative console. The Monitor Models page shows only the currently deployed or running monitor models.
