Migrating to IBM BPM V8.0.1
If you are running IBM BPM Standard V7.5.x, Lombardi Teamworks 7.0.x, or WebSphere Lombardi Edition 7.1.0 or 7.2.0, you can migrate to IBM BPM V8.0.1.
Before you begin the migration, familiarize yourself with the new and deprecated functions in IBM BPM V8.0.1.
After you have performed the migration, modify the passwords in the authentication aliases to their settings in the previous environment. For a list of authentication aliases, refer to "Default users and groups." The procedure for changing the default password for tw_admin and tw_user is described in "Changing the default password for tw_admin and tw_user."
For this migration operation, you have the following options:
- Backing up existing installations
Backups enable you to keep files and settings to transfer to the new IBM BPM V8.0.1 installations.- Itemizing customizations
Before you perform the migration, make a list of any customizations you have made to your existing installations and ensure you have a backup copy of your customized files.- Verifying database privileges
Verify that you have the necessary privileges to access the database in each runtime environment you are migrating.- Backing up databases
Before you migrate to IBM BPM V8.0.1, create backup copies of your existing databases.- Install IBM BPM V8.0.1 for migration
Install the Process Center and then install a Process Server for each runtime environment that you require (for example, staging, test, and production environments).- Applying customizations
Compare your customized files from the backups of your existing installations with the corresponding files in the new IBM BPM V8.0.1 installations to ensure that all of your settings are correctly applied to the new installations.- Upgrading existing databases
Use the upgradeProcessData command to modify your existing database schemas and data for use with IBM BPM V8.0.1.- Verifying the migration
Use the Process Center Console and IBM Process Designer to verify the migration.- Export and importing process assets
Export all assets from previous versions and import them into IBM BPM V8.0.1 if there is no need to retain runtime data and instances.
