Decide what types of profiles to configure
The installation process installs the Process Center and Process Server server components.
- Process Center provides...
- Runtime environment for process applications
- Repository for process assets
- Console for...
- administering access to assets
- deploying processes to test, stage, or production environments
- Process Server provides...
- Runtime environment for process applications
- Data warehouse for collecting performance data from the applications
- Console for managing the runtime environments and data warehouses
You can configure server profiles for either one or both of these, depending on your needs. If you configure one, you can return to these instructions later and configure the other.
If installing IBM BPM Advanced: Process Server, the Process Center option is not available.
Configuring profiles for both Process Server and Process Center is two separate activities: first configure a profile for one, and then another profile for the other.
To configure profiles for Process Center and Process Server, select a custom installation type.
If you are generating an installation guide, and you select...
Process Center and Process Server
...the generated instructions include information about sequentially configuring both types of profiles.
If you select the typical installation type, you can select only one type of profile to configure. If you want to configure the other profile type as well, perform its configuration steps after the typical installation has completed.
