IBM BPM, V8.0.1, All platforms > Migrating and upgrading your IBM BPM environment
Migrating from other products
You can migrate applications and configuration data from certain IBM products that existed before IBM BPM or IBM Integration Designer.
Migration from another product to IBM BPM is supported from the following products:
WebSphere InterChange Server version 4.2.0 or later. For more information see Migrating from WebSphere InterChange Server or WebSphere Business Integration Server Express.
- WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation versions 5.1 and 5.1.1. For more information see Migrating from WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition.
- WebSphere MQ Workflow version 3.6. See Migrating from WebSphere MQ Workflow.
You can also migrate to IBM BPM from certain versions of WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus and WebSphere Application Server, as well as from prior versions of WebSphere Process Server itself. For more information about migration from these products, see Migrating from previous versions.
For migration from another product to IBM BPM (for example, WebSphere InterChange Server or WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation for z/OS to IBM BPM) , the migration steps include using migration tools to convert source artifacts to the new IBM BPM version of the artifacts.
WebSphere Integration Developer contains migration tools that assist in migrating existing application source artifacts to IBM BPM artifacts. These tools can be accessed through the File > Import.. wizards of WebSphere Integration Developer. The migration tools designed to assist with migration from WebSphere InterChange Server can also be accessed through the command line of IBM BPM.
You can also find articles that might help you with migration in the IBM developerWorks "Technical Library" at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks.
Migrating from WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition
Source artifacts for WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation (WBISF) 5.1 projects can be migrated from WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition to IBM Integration Designer. Migrating the source artifacts in an application involves migrating them to the new IBM Integration Designer programming model so that new functions can be used. The application can then be redeployed and installed to IBM BPM.Migrating to IBM Integration Designer from WebSphere MQ Workflow
IBM Integration Designer provides the necessary tools to migrate from WebSphere MQ Workflow.Migrating from WebSphere InterChange Server or WebSphere Business Integration Server Express
Use the IBM Integration Designer wizard or the IBM BPM reposMigrate command to migrate from WebSphere InterChange Server version 4.3 or later or WebSphere Business Integration Server Express version 4.4 or later to IBM BPM.
