Stopping stand-alone servers

Stop a stand-alone server before modifying certain configurations for the server or the modules deployed on it.

Verify that there is no work in progress; performance monitoring infrastructure counters can indicate whether all queued work is complete. In addition, prevent new work from starting by disabling HTTP and IIOP traffic and quiescing the service integration bus.

Procedure

  1. Stop the server by using one of the following methods for your operating system:

    • From the Start menu, select IBM WebSphere > Process Server > Profiles > profile_name > Stop the server.
    • In the First steps console, click Stop the server.
    • Use the z/OS STOP command.

    • Use the stopServer command.

  2. Verify that the server has stopped by checking the INSTALL_ROOT/profiles/ profile_name/logs/ server_name/stopServer.log log file for the message Server server_name stop completed.
  3. Verify that the server has stopped by checking the SYSPRINT DD statement of the IBM BPM started task for the message Server server_name stop completed.
