Use monitoring tools for troubleshooting
In addition to the logs and trace, messages, and release notes, you can use monitoring tools to figure out issues such as the location of data in the environment, the availability of servers in the grid, and so on. If you are running in a WebSphere Application Server environment, you can use Performance Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI). If you are running in a stand-alone environment, you can use a vendor monitoring tool, such as CA Wily Introscope or Hyperic HQ. You can also use and customize the xsAdmin sample utility to display textual information about the environment. For more information about monitoring tools, see Monitor the deployment environment.
- Logs and trace
You can use logs and trace to monitor and troubleshoot the environment. Logs are in different locations depending on the configuration. You might need to provide trace for a server when you work with IBM support.- Troubleshoot loaders
Use this information to troubleshoot issues with the database loaders.- Messages
When you encounter a message in a log or other parts of the product interface, you can look up the message by its component prefix to find out more information.- Release notes
