Update eclipse.ini for IBM Worklight Studio

If you install Worklight Studio in to an existing Eclipse installation, manually update the eclipse.ini file to successfully run Worklight Studio.

  1. Stop the workbench.

  2. Back up...

      eclipse_installation_directory\eclipse\eclipse.ini.

  3. Edit eclipse.ini file and set...

    • Oracle 32-bit JRE: -XX:MaxPermSize=320m
    • Oracle 64-bit JRE: -XX:MaxPermSize=512m

  4. If you are using a Java 1.7 JDK with Eclipse 3.6.2, add the following line to the end of the file:

      -Djava.util.Arrays.useLegacyMergeSort=true

  5. Save and close.

    If your Eclipse workbench has IBM Rational Team Concert, version 4.0, Eclipse Client already installed, the Worklight Studio plug-ins might not be properly activated when you open an existing workbench. For example, the wizard...

    ...might not be available. To fix, perform extra steps for Rational Team Concert V4.0.
