When you update a Web application, WebLogic Server redeploys the archive file or exploded directory. Update a Web application if you have made changes to it and you want to make the changes available to WebLogic Server clients.
To update an application, follow these steps:

- If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
- In the left pane of the Console, select Deployments. A table in the right pane displays all deployed applications and modules.
- In the table, locate the Web application you want to update (redeploy).
- Select the check box next to the name of the Web application you want to update.
- Click Update to redeploy the application.
- Change the application's source and deployment plan paths as desired.
- Click Finish to confirm your decision.
- To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
