Configure SAML 1.1 source services

Before you begin

Create a SAML Credential Mapper V2 security provider instance in the server's security realm and configure it. See Configuring a SAML credential mapping Provider and Configure Credential Mapping Providers.

You can use the Federation Services > SAML 1.1 Source Site page to configure a WebLogic Server instance to function as a SAML source site. A SAML source site is a site that provides an Intersite Transfer Service (ITS). A source site generates assertions that are conveyed to a destination site using one of the single sign-on profiles.

To configure a server as a SAML source site:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).

  2. In the left pane, select Environment > Servers and click the name of the server you are configuring (for example, myserver).

  3. Select Configuration > Federation Services > SAML 1.1 Source Site.

  4. Select Source Site Enabled to cause this server to act as a source for SAML assertions.

  5. Set any other desired configuration options. See Configuring a SAML Source Site for Single Sign-On for details.

  6. In the Change Center, click Activate Changes and then restart WebLogic Server.
