Configure topic multicast parameters

After you configure a JMS template, you can define multicast parameters for topics that enable the delivery of messages to a select group of hosts that subsequently forward the messages to subscribers.

To configure multicast options for a JMS template:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).

  2. In the Administration Console, navigate to the template resource that you want to configure:

  3. Click the Configuration > Multicast tab.

  4. On the Multicast page:

    1. In Multicast Address, enter the multicast address used by the topics.

    2. In Multicast TTL, enter the number of network hops that a multicast message is allowed to travel.

    3. In Multicast Port, enter the multicast port for the topics.

For more information about these fields, see Configuration Options.

  5. Save your changes:

  6. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
