The adminstrator registers trusted certificate authorities in the trust keystore. The WebLogic CertPath provider only trusts certificates that are signed by those certificate authorities.

Validator

Can your certification path provider be used as a validator?

A certification path validator, given a certificate chain, validates it. A WebLogic security realm can have one or more validators. A certificate must be declared valid by all of the validators in order to be considered valid.

Potential Builder

Can your certification path provider be used as a potential builder?

A certifcation path builder, given a reference to a certificate chain, finds the chain and validates it. A WebLogic security realm can have one active builder.

Current Builder

Check this box if this certification cath provider should be used as the current builder.

A WebLogic security realm can have one active builder.
