Define more data sources

You can add more data sources to your agent after you define the initial data source.

Procedure

  1. Define more data sources after you define the initial data source, by any of the following methods:

    • From the Data Source Definition page select the agent, navigator group, or subnode, and then click Add to Selected

    • From the Data Source Definition page right-click on the agent, and select Add Data Source as shown in (Figure 1)

    • You can also add more data sources after you complete the New Agent wizard. See (The Tivoli Monitoring Agent Editor). An advantage of using the Agent Editor is that you can save incremental changes as you make them.

When you add a monitor using the Agent Editor Data Source Definition page, the Data Source Location page is shown (Figure 2). The Data Source Location is the same as the Agent Initial Data Source page (Figure 1) except for the name of the page.

  2. Select one of the Monitoring Data Categories and one of the Data Sources.

  3. Click Next. The wizard guides you through the process of defining and configuring any of the data collection types that you specify.

  4. Click Finish to add the new data source to the Data Source Definition page.
