Encrypting datapools

You can encrypt datapool columns.

Create a test containing a datapool.

1. Open a datapool for editing.

2. Click the heading of the column to encrypt. The Edit Variable window opens.

3. Select Encrypted, and then click OK. The Enter Password window opens.

4. Type the password to use to encrypt the column. If you have already encrypted other columns in the datapool, you must enter the password that you used previously. You can use only one password to encrypt columns in a datapool.

5. Click OK. Asterisks are displayed instead of the actual values of encrypted variables.

Results

The datapool column is encrypted.

If you forget the password to a datapool, there is no way to recover the password.

Remove encryption from datapools
Set passwords on encrypted datapools
Import to encrypted datapools
Export from encrypted datapools
