Troubleshoot data collection problems with the symptom catalog
A symptom catalog is an XML file of symptoms and associated solutions used to analyze event and error messages that might be included in a log.
To troubleshoot problems with data collection using a symptom catalog:
- Add the data collection symptom catalog to the list of available catalogs:
- From the Window menu, select...
Preferences | Profiling and Logging | Symptom Catalog Locations

- Select: Add URL
- Enter a name to identify the symptom catalog.
For example: MyDCI
- In the URL field, type the following:
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/rationalsdp/rpa/60/symptomdb/symptomdb.xml
- Click OK to add this URL to the list of symptom catalog sources.
- Click OK to exit the Preferences dialog box.
