Defining a screen reader for the help system
Users with special needs might want to access the online help topics in a screen reader instead of in the embedded help system. You can set the online help to open in a screen reader by default.To define a screen reader for the help system:
- Click Window > Preferences > Help.
- On the Help preferences page, select the Always use external browsers check box.
- Click Custom browser.
- In the Custom Browser command field, specify the executable file for the screen reader executable.
For example, to use IBM Home Page Reader, specify C:\Program Files\IBM\IBM Home Page Reader 3.04\hpr.exe.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
- Click Help > Help Contents.
ResultsThe online help system opens in the desired screen reader.
