Define the Web Browser preference
Using the Preferences page, you can select your preferred Web Browser to render your Web resources. To define these preferences, complete the following:
- From the Window menu, select Preferences.
- In the Preferences page, select Internet > Web Browser.
- Under Installed Web Browsers list, select your preferred Web browser used for testing. By default the Internal Web Browser is selected, which comes with the workbench.
- (Optional) If you would like to edit the internal Web browser, complete the following:
- Under Installed Web Browsers list, highlight Internal Web browser and click Edit.
- Specify one or more of the following settings:
Option Description Open a new page for each request Specifies whether to open a new Web Browser page for each time one of the following actions is performed:
- Right-clicking on a file and then selecting Run on Server.
- Right-clicking on a file and then selecting Open.
- Right-clicking on a file, selecting Open with, and then selecting Web Browser.
Clear URL history when exiting workbench Specifies weather to remove the Web addresses from the drop-down list in the address bar. By default this check box is clear and the Web addresses are persisted for the next workspace session. - (Optional) If you like to add an external Web browser to the Installed Web Browsers, click Add. Specify one or more of the following settings:
Option Description Name Specifies the name of the external Web browser, you want to add. Location Specifies the location of the external Web Browser. You can either type the path or click Browse to select it. Parameters (Optional). Specifies the parameters that you want to pass to the external Web Browser. If you need to include the URL, use %URL%. Note: A new external Web Browser page is opened, except where Open or Open with is selected.
- (Optional) If you like to edit a Web browser setting under the Installed Web Browsers list, highlight this Web browser and click Edit.
- (Optional) If you like to remove a Web browser setting under the Installed Web Browsers list, highlight this Web browser and click Remove. The Internal Web browser cannot be removed.
- (Optional) If you like the workbench to search your local file system for the executable of an external Web browser. Complete the following:
- Click Search. The Directory Selection wizard opens.
- Select the directory of where you want the workbench to start searching for the installed Web browsers.
- Click OK, to execute the search.
- Click OK to save your changes.
