HTTP Proxy Recorder Preferences Dialog
Proxy recorder preferences specify the web browser that recorded applications start from, the program that generates tests from a recorded session, and the port to which the HTTP server at the application site redirects traffic to be recorded.
- Application to record
- Select the browser that you start HTTP applications from, or select none if you prefer to set up recording manually.
- As released, only Internet Explorer is selectable. To add another browser (Netscape, Mozilla, etc.) to the drop-down list, see Adding a browser to the Hyades recording framework
- .
- Test generator
- Select the test generator to use with the recording, or select none if you prefer to set up test generation manually. If you select a test generator, it starts automatically at the conclusion of recording and generates a test from the recorded application data.
- As released, only HTTP Test Generator is selectable. To add a custom generator to the drop-down list, see Adding a custom generator to the Hyades recording framework.
- Proxy recorder local port
- Enter the number of a free port on the local machine to be used by the HTTP recorder, or accept the default. The recorder listens on this port.
- By default, the recorder runs on the local machine, but it can be configured to start on a remote host: see Starting the HTTP proxy recorder on a remote host. If this is done, the port specified here is a free port on that remote host.
