Customizing the default settings for the Java Assistant

In UML visualization, you can set the default for using the Java Assistant wizard when you add new Java fields and methods (attributes and operations) to classifiers in class diagrams.

To customize the default settings for the Java Assistant:

  1. Click Window > Preferences

  2. In the Preferences window, expand Modeling and click Java Assisted Modeling.

  3. On the Java Assisted Modeling page, select Fields and Methods.

  4. Click OK.

Note: If you clear the Fields and Methods selections, the Java Assistant wizard does not appear when you add fields or methods to Java classifiers. The default settings apply to new fields or methods, not existing ones.
