Saving diagrams as image files

In UML visualization, you can save an entire diagram or selected diagram elements as an image file so that you can use them in other media such as Microsoft Word documents, presentations, or HTML pages. You can save diagrams as BMP, GIF, JPEG, JPG, or SVG image files.

To save a diagram as an image file:

  1. In the diagram editor, right-click an empty space or selected diagram elements; then click File > Save As Image File.

  2. In the Copy Diagram as Image File window, in the Folder field, specify where to save the image file.

  3. In the File Name field, type a file name.

  4. In the Image Format list, click a graphic format.

  5. (Optional) To automatically replace an existing file, select the Overwrite existing file without warning check box.

  6. Click OK.

Note: The GIF and SVG image files that you save cannot open in some applications. You need graphic viewers to open SVG files.
