Specifying XPath Expression builder preferences

You can use the XPath Expression builder preference page to see which version of XPath the XPath expression wizard is using and to specify whether you want your XPath expression automatically evaluated as you type it.

To access the XPath expression builder preference page, follow the steps:

  1. Click Windows > Preferences > Web and XML > XPath Builder. You can also launch it from the XPath expression wizard by clicking the XPath builder preference page button

    .

  2. The XPath specification version field indicates which version of XPath is supported by the wizard. You cannot change this.

  3. Clear the Evaluate XPath while typing check box if you do not want your XPath expression automatically evaluated in the wizard while you are creating it.

  4. Click Apply, then OK.
