Define ranges

Ranges can be defined for the input, output, and return values of test data tables and for the input and output values of stub data tables. A range is shown in a data table by comma-separated values enclosed within square brackets ([ ]). Ranges are supported for primitive numerical data types.

To define a range:

  1. Position the cursor in any data table cell that is not grayed out and can accept a numerical data type.

  2. Right-click in the cell and click Define Range. This opens the range editor.

  3. Enter the first numerical value in the range and press Tab.

  4. Enter the second numerical value in the range by doing one of the following.

    • If defining a range for an input value of a test data table, press Tab, enter the increment, and click anywhere outside the cell to finish defining the range.

    • If defining a range for an output value of a test data table or the input of a stub data table, click anywhere outside the cell to finish defining the range.

Example

With the following range, values will be generated from 100 to 1000 in increments of 50.

[100..1000]/50
