Reverting the published server configuration to the original server configuration for WebSphere Application Server v5.x
If you select the Use default WebSphere deployment directory check box when creating a WebSphere Application Server v5.x and then publish using this server, the default WebSphere Application Server cells directory is replaced with the published version.
If you select the Use default WebSphere deployment directory check box when creating a WebSphere server and you also select the Generate plug-in configuration check box when editing a WebSphere server (in the Overview page) and then publish using this server, the default WebSphere Application Server server configuration XML files and the plugin-cfg.xml files are replaced with the published version.
Before the server configuration XML files and the plugin-cfg.xml files are replaced, backup copies of them are saved in the following directory (where WebSphere_deployment_directory is the path of the directory where the Web Application and server configurations are published):
WebSphere_deployment_directory/config/wasTools_bkupBackup copies are only made the first time in the day that you publish remotely. The file or directory name of the backup files has the current date appended to it. For example cells_bk_YYYYMMDD directory (where YYYY is the year, MM is the month, and DD is the day).
To use a backup copy of a server configuration file:
- Rename the file or directory by removing the date.
- Copy to the WebSphere_deployment_directory/config directory.
