Renaming a Web page or a Web page navigation label
Each page in a Web site structure has two names. The Web page itself has a file name that is the actual name of the file. The page icon that represents that file in Web Site Designer has a navigation label used for site navigation purposes.
To change the actual file name:
- Right-click the page icon, and select Rename from the context menu.
- Type the new file name for your page.
Note: If an actual file is not yet associated with the page icon, you can still specify a file name. When you launch the New File wizard to create the file, the file name you specified is inserted in the Name field.
To change the navigation label of any page in your Web site:
- Right-click the page icon, and select Edit Navigation Label from the pop-up menu.
- Type the new label for your page.
The text that appears in the navigation of your Web page changes, but not the name of the file.
