Process guidance preferences

You define preferences for process guidance in the Process page of the Preferences window.

The following process guidance preferences can be set:

• Rational Unified Process (RUP) Configuration installed location for all displayed content

• Content filters for context-based results in the Process Advisor view

 

RUP Configurations

Much like a software product, the Rational Unified Process framework is a software engineering process that is regularly upgraded and released in either standard or configured versions. You can update the configuration used in the IDE to the latest released version of the RUP framework or change to a tailored RUP Configuration that specifically addresses the needs of your development organization. RUP Configurations customize the various elements of the RUP, including templates, guidelines, and examples.

 

Filtering the content of dynamic searches

You can configure your profile to filter the information that is dynamically searched and displayed. The preferences can be configured based on your roles, by topic areas you want results grouped by, and also by any related topic pages you want displayed. Related pages you select are displayed with the set of dynamic search results, sorted by title.
