Copying or moving data objects

You can copy or move data objects such as databases, schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and user-defined functions in the Data perspective.

Restriction: You cannot drag and drop SQL statements.

The following table shows the valid drop targets by data object type.

Type of data object Valid drop targets
Database Project, folder
Schema Project, folder, database of the same vendor type
Table Project, folder, database of the same vendor type, schema, Tables folder
View Project, folder, database of the same vendor type, schema, Views folder
Stored procedure Project, folder, database of the same vendor type, schema, Stored Procedures folder
User-defined function Project, folder, database of the same vendor type, schema, User-defined Functions folder

These actions can be performed in a view on the databases from the same vendor. For example, you cannot copy an Oracle object to an Informix database.
